Bike-By Shootings is an on-going series of spontaneous urban portraits and profiles of fashionable everyday bike riders who project a touch of style while roaming the sometimes chaotic pathways in Montreal.
The concept was born this past winter, when a fashion photographer and a journalist-filmmaker, came up with the idea after a nippy ride over a steaming bowl of potato broccoli soup while flipping through a bike magazine. The on-going project combines their avid interests in cycling, street fashion and photojournalism.
Working in tandem on street corners, park benches and in their outdoor office, the duo has stopped dozens of bike riders in their tracks, most of whom have been eager to reveal their compelling insights and two-wheeled stories. They document urban cyclists’ style, who they are and what they ride.
The result? A quirky and fashionable series of freeze frames accompanied by personable vignettes of life on two wheels.
